Mr. Jack Davidson, 77, of Paynes Creek Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at his home.
Born on September 8, 1946 in Hindman, KY, he was the son of the late Lola Davidson Smith. Mr. Davidson received his Bachelor's Degree from Mercer University, and he was a former corrections officer for Phillips State Prison in Lawrenceville, GA. He was also an avid golfer, talented bluegrass musician, and loved his grandchildren. Jack was also a US Marine veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife: Robin Wile Davidson; two sons: Jeff Davidson (Vickie) of White Oak, FL, and Ryan Whetstone (Stacie) of Atlanta; daughter: Megan Bell (Billy) of Hartwell; brother: Billy Smith of Kendallville, IN; sister: Pam Trowbridge (Steve) of Kendallville, IN; and eight grandchildren: Mekayla, Tate, Jayde, Elliot, William, Isla, Everett, and Grady. Mr. Davidson is preceded in death by his mother and three brothers: Ron Reeves, David Smith, and Keith Smith.
A Celebration of Jack's life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Megan & Billy Bell. 965 Paynes Creek Rd, Hartwell, GA, with Miss Abby Ortiz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First Methodist Church, Daytona Mission Fund, 200 E. Howell St, Hartwell, GA 30643.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
