Obituary
Mr. Jack Rowland Norton, 91, formerly of Hartwell, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Waynesboro, VA.
Born on September 22, 1921 in Tampa, FL, he was the son of the late Rowland Pittman Norton and Alice Petree Norton.He was a retired Construction Superintendent, former member and Elder of Sharon Presbyterian Church, a member of the Swing Harts Square Dancers, the American Legion Post 109, and a US Coast Guard Veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Bryson and her husband Bill of Afton, VA; a sister, Alice N. "Judy" Huff of St. Lucie West, FL; two grandchildren: Jared Bryson, Joshua Bryson; and three great grandchildren: Hannah Marie Bryson, Lydia Mae Bryson, and Josiah Bryson.Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Madline Taylor Norton; a son, Jack Norton; a sister, Jacqueline Norton; and a half sister, Henrietta Loucrecia Berry Covington.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little River United Methodist Church in Woodstock, GA with Pastor Matt Holst officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.
