Mr. Jessie James "Jack" Scott, 87, of Ridge Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center
Born on May 24, 1929 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Penie Scott and Ada Fowler Scott.Mr. Scott was a retired route salesman with Coble Milk and a member of the Hartwell Church of God.He also was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife: Alma Hulett Scott; four sons: Frank Scott and his wife Terry of Del Rio, TX, Billy Scott and his wife Deborah of Hartwell, Donnie Scott and his wife Patrice of Royston, Pete Scott and his wife Pam of Canon; one daughter: Linda Covington and her husband Steve of El Paso,TX;ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Gaynell Bloodworth Scott; and he was the last of twelve brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Lonnie Bennett and Rev. Gary Thompson officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family is at their respective homes.
