Mr. Melvin Jackson Sullivan, age 67 of 861 Hannah Church Creek Road, Royston, Ga., died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Cobb Memorial Hospital, Royston, Ga.

Born Janaury 4, 1941 in Kenton, Missouri he was the son of the late Noah and Martha Sullivan. He was a Truck Driver and of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by: wife, Gearlene Porterfield Sullivan of the home, sons, Randy Jackson Sullivan, Lavonia, Ga., Gary Sullivan and John Sullivan, Royston, Ga., daughters, Lena Sullivan, Royston, Ga., and Kathy Garratt, Spartanburg, S.C., brothers, Ralph Sullivan of Tennessee and Jerry Sullivan of Indiana, sisters, Melba Beateo, Doris Hall, Linda Johnson, Georgia Mae Metcalf and Paula Sullivan all of Indiana. Fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

A private memorial service was held Saturday, May 18, 2008 at Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel. Rev. Bobby Berryman officiated. Burial will be at the family farm.
