Obituary
Mrs. Jacquelyn T. "Jackie" Cartlidge, 78, of Hartwell, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Cartlidge was formerly of Atlanta where she was a teacher in DeKalb County Schools for many years.She was a talented watercolor artist and held a Bachelors of Fine Art degree from the University of Georgia where she was also a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.Mrs. Cartlidge was an avid gardener and enjoyed her beautiful lakeside garden filled with fruits and flowers. She was also a member of Hartwell First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son: George William "Bill" Cartlidge, Jr. of Cocoa Beach, FL; a daughter: Ann Capallo and her husband, Mark, of Atlanta; granddaughter: Britt Edlin and her husband, Don, of Atlanta; grandson: Tom Capallo of Atlanta; and one great granddaughter: Emma Edlin of Atlanta. She is also survived by a sister: Glenda Lax and her husband, Joe, of Ninety Six, SC.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd, Suite 10, Atlanta GA 30345.
