Mr. William "Jackie" Gray, 74 of 502 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Hart County Hospital.

Born December 23, 1932 in Hart County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Howard Gray and Evelyn Mackey Gray.He was retired from Dunlop at the Maintenance Manager.He was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church and was Deacon.He was a former Sunday School Teacher, Training Union Director, Church Clerk, Church Treasurer, and former member of the Building Committee.He was member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and helped establish Reed Creek Fire Department.He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

His survivors include:Wife, Lura Schultz Gray of the home; Son, Tim Gray and his wife Dana of Hartwell, GA; Daughter, Darlene Brown and her husband, Dennis of Commerce, GA; Brother, Herbert Gray and his wife, Barbara of Dawsonville, GA; Sister, Carol Harris and her husband Winston of Hartwell, GA; 4 grandchildren, Dean Brown, Deanna Glenn, Justin Gray and Jake Gray; and 1 great grandchild, Graycie Glenn..

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Reed Creek Baptist Church.Rev. Sam Dulaney and Rev. Jason Danuser will officiate. Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Tim and Dana Gray, 453 Greenway Upholstery Road, Hartwell, GA.The family requests no flowers, and memorials may be made to Reed Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell, GA or to ALS Association, 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, GA30329
