Mrs. Jackye Kiser Murphy, 58, of Ridgewood Drive, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at her home

Born on March 23, 1960 in Gainesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Otis Whelchel Kiser and Annie Grace McIntyre Kiser. Mrs. Murphy was graduate from of the University of Georgia with a BS degree in Home Economics, Anderson University with a BS degree in Education, and Southern Wesleyan University with a Master's in Education. She was an instructor at Tri-County Technical College where she taught early childhood education and received the Adjunct Faculty Presidential Award in 2015. Jackye was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell and the Bond of Love Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband: James Patrick Murphy; two daughters: Jennifer M. Graham & Travis of Athens, GA, and Anna M. Clark & Derek of Grovetown, GA; four brothers: Joe Kiser & Gail of Madison, GA, Jim Kiser & Rita of Maysville, GA, Gerald Kiser & Helen of Gainesville, GA, Gene Kiser & Genelle of Gainesville, GA; one sister: Judy Thomsen & Kirk of Gainesville, GA; and one sister-in-law: Carol Kiser of Gainesville, GA. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Bill & Mike Kiser.

A memorial service celebrating Jackye's life will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell with Dr. Hugh Kirby and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jackye Kiser Murphy Scholarship, c/o Tri County Technical College, 7900 US Hwy 76, Pendleton, SC 29670, www.tctc.edu.
