Mr. Jacob Riley Mauldin, 29, of Hartwell, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016.
Born in Macon GA, he was the son of Kimberly Susan Mims Mauldin and the late James Gregory "Greg" Mauldin.Jacob was a graduate of The Golf Academy of America, Myrtle Beach SC, member of the Hartwell Golf Club, USGA and was working on his PGA certification.He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.
Survivors include his mother: Kim Mauldin of Hartwell; his sister: Brittiany Mauldin Lathrup and her husband Brett of Tacoma WA; his brother: Gregory R. Mauldin of Cochran GA; his paternal grandmother: Jonnye Mauldin of Hartwell; aunts and uncles: George & Ruth Hooker and Edward & Marie Jackson and many loved cousins. Jacob was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandfather: James Mauldin and maternal grandparents: Barbara & Robert Patton.
At just 3 years old, he was playing golf every day with his father and grandfather. He had the talent and skills on the golf course that led him to a life of golfing. Jacob spent time in Milledgeville, GA from 2003 to 2012 where he worked at Milledgeville Country Club. Though he worked at different golf clubs throughout his life; his heart belonged to Hartwell Golf Club where he worked various positions of operations.
He was loved by so many people in this world and made such an impact in the ones he let into his life. When Jacob walked into a room; he attracted smiles and laughs and made everything better by his presence.
A service celebrating Jacob's life will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at their respective homes.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell Golf Club, 755 Golf Course Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
