Obituary

Jacqueline Ida Dickerson, age 76, of Lavonia passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at her home.

"Jackie" had a creative passion for gardening and the intricacies of the botanical paradise that she cultivated on a daily basis. She surrounded herself in this beautiful oasis with her love for animals and now is blessed to be reunited with many from her past in heaven now. Jackie's humor was both witty and infectious, endearing to everyone around her. Her character was defined by an unwavering love for those she cared about and a readiness to go above and beyond whenever she was needed.

Her family was the center of her life. She lived, loved, protected and provided for them in the way of the Lord. She has gone home to Jesus to live in Heaven and wait to be reunited with all her loved ones again. She leaves a legacy of love, faith, strength, and wisdom to all those she touched.

Born January 16, 1948, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Murial Jones Dickerson. She graduated from Campbell High School and retired from AT&T.

She is survived by her children, Anthony Misanko, Mark Misanko, and Lisa Rutherford-Jones; grandchildren, Cole Rutherford, Trever Rutherford, Katherine Misanko, and Taylor Misanko; and siblings, Vicki Rodriguez, Betty Sue Manning, Sharon Trusty, Rene Dickerson, and Patsy Patterson.

Mrs. Dickerson was cremated in accordance with her request. The family will hold a private memorial service.
