Obituary
Mr. James Harold Atkinson, 87, of 197 Bakers Road, Royston, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
Born on June 16, 1923 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Holman Atkinson and Annie Hall Atkinson. He retired from Franklin Minerals and was a US Army WWII veteran.
He is survived by his daughter: Brenda Shiflet of Royston; one sister: Inez Crittendon; and one grandchild. Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife: Mary Etta Atkinson.
Memorial services will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel. The family is at the home of Brenda & Niles Shiflet. Flowers are optional.
