James Malcolm "Mac" Boswell, Sr., age 75, of Lavonia, died Sunday, October 25, 2015.
Born May 7, 1940, in Nashville, TN, he was the son of the late Wilbur Leftwitch Boswell and Mildred (Lowery) Boswell. He retired from Anderson and Vreeland as a sales representative. He loved music and had a distinctive musical career with his band Mac Boswell & the Outcasts.His very dear friend, John Clark is the only remaining member of the band.He attended Lavonia First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Carol (Holden) Boswell of the home; son: James M. Boswell "Bo" of Lawrenceville; son and daughter-in-law: Tony and Patti Boswell of Loganville; daughter and son-in-law: Carrie & Brian Lee of Flowery Branch; sister: Mary Lee Taylor; grandchildren: Haley Kendall, Austin Boswell, Lindsey Boswell, Hayden Lee, and Holden Lee; and great-granddaughter: Ava Jaymes Kendall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Bill Boswell.
The funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help children in need.
