Mr. James Milledge Brock, age 91 of 196 Freedom Trail, Hartwell, Ga., died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Hart County Hospital.


He was Born October 10, 1916 to the late Benjamin Leander Brock and Emma Dianah Spearman Brock. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Brock was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a Gunner's Mate.

He is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Susie Donald Brock, sons, Stanley James Brock, Stephen Wayne Brock, Barry Ray Brock and Donald Anthony Brock all of Hartwell, Ga., daughter, Janet Brock Bridges of Greenville, S.C. Ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Danny Alton Brock, brothers, Elmer, J.C., B.D. and William Howard Brock and sister, Maybelle Cann, Clara Lee Miller and Bessie Burdette and by a grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home on 196 Freedom Trail in Hartwell.
