Mr. James Cater Moss, 77, of Iva, SC died Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Born on October 16, 1933 in Calhoun Falls, SC, he was the son of the late James Claude Moss and Ethel Powell Moss. He was a former Chief of Police of Iva, SC, a member of Truth Tabernacle Baptist Church in Starr, SC, and a supply clerk at Jackson Mill.Mr. Moss was also a former Anderson County Deputy Sheriff and a Korean War Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby McDowell Moss; one son: Steve Moss of Anderson; three daughters: Rita Burden of Calhoun Falls, Erminda Wright of Hartwell, Erlene Hancock of Hartwell; one brother: Ray Moss of Gray Court, SC; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Moss was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Mildred Bonds and Sybil Johnson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Truth Tabernacle Baptist Church in Starr, SC with Rev. Hudson White officiating. Burial will be in the Iva City Cemetery, Iva, SC.
