Mr. James Terrell Cobb, 90, of 77 New Prospect Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his home.
Born on November 14, 1922 in Canon GA, he was the son of the late Marshall Cobb and Essie Pierce Cobb.He was retired from Tenneco Auto Equipment, where he was a quality control inspector, member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and was a WW II U S Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines.
Survivors include his wife: Olivia M. Hicks Cobb of the home; three sons: Donnie Cobb and his wife Judy, Terrell Cobb and Calvin Cobb and his wife Carol all of Hartwell; a daughter: Barbara C. Vaughn and her husband Roger of Chickamauga GA; a brother: Charles Cobb of Sumter SC; twelve grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Cobb was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers: Furman Cobb, Hubert Cobb, Winfred Cobb, Johnny Cobb, Tom Cobb and R.M. Cobb and two sisters: Sue Bowers and Faye Crowe.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Donald Little and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Military Honors.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home.
