Mr. James Douglas "Doug" Crumley, 72, of Pennie Lane, Hartwell, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at his home.

Born in Commerce, GA on February 12, 1940, he was the son of the late James Douglas "Tater" Crumley and Francine Smallwood Crumley Cowart.He was a former Farm Bureau Insurance Agent and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include three sons: Allen Crumley of Hartwell, Chris Crumley of Hartwell, and Danny Crumley of Atlanta; four brothers:Ricky Crumley, Ralph Crumley, Davis Crumley and Lewis Crumley all of Gainesville, GA.; one half-sister, Linda Cowart of Lexington, GA.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Crumley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Goldie "Faye" Peeler Crumley and one brother, Kenneth Crumley.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Leon Pierce officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.In lieu of flowers, special memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 409410, Atlanta, GA30384-9410.
