Mr. James Callie Elgin, age 64 of 180 Elgin Circle, Bowersville, Ga., died Thursday, February 01, 2007 at his home.

Born April 28, 1942 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Reese Elgin and Ruby Gilmore Elgin. He was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Mae Grant Elgin of the home, sons, Danny, Steven, Robert and Lamar Elgin all of Canon, Ga., daughters, Elaine Fleeman of Hartwell, Ga., and Tammy Kershner of Canon, Ga., daughter-in-laws, Polly, Julie, Lisa and Amanda Elgin, all of Canon, Ga., sons-in-law, Kenneth Fleeman of Hartwell, Ga., and Donnie Kershner of Canon, Ga. Grandchildren, Daniel Elgin, Timothy Elgin, Candice Akins, Kimberly Akins, Stephanie Akins, Seth Fleeman, Braxton Hix, Nicki Elgin, Ashley Elgin, Nicole Elgin, Cattie Lee, Kristi Lee and Jennifer Kershner, sisters, Janice Elgin, Wanda Sue Woods, Lilly Belle Brown and Magaline Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Dale Elgin and a sister, Frances Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell. Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Jimmy Wilson will officiate. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday evening. The family will be at the home, 180 Elgin Circle in Hartwell.
