James David "Tiger" Floyd, age 51, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Lincoln County, GA.
Born October 9, 1969, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late James Howard Floyd and Beverly Ann Mauldin Smith. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and worked for Andritz Hydro Corporation. He was previously a journeyman millwright and welder. Tiger was an avid outdoorsman; he especially loved to hunt and fish. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: John "Scut" Mauldin, James Howard "Red" Floyd, and Margaret & Howard Ragland; and step-father: Mark Smith.
He is survived by his sons: Tyler (Kaitlyn) Floyd and Tanner (Caitie) Floyd; daughter: Breanna (Austin) Parker; granddaughter: McKenna Floyd; grandmother: Etrulia Mauldin; step-mother: Lori Floyd; brother: Chris (Valerie) Floyd; and sisters: Cheri (Tony) Beatenbo, Christi (Jerry) Jackson, Maggie (Cody) Jackson, and Jamee Floyd.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family will plan a celebration of Tiger's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the South Carolina Foothills Search & Rescue, Inc. (www.foothillssar.org)
