James Edward Foster, age 61, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home.

He was born October 24, 1961, in Franklin County, son of J. R. and Gloria Walters Foster. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School, Class of 1979. James was the owner of Foster Racing and Bear Creek Kennels. James was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 42 years: Sherry Lynn Hyde Foster; son & daughter-in-law: Bryan & Danielle Foster; grandchildren: Bryce, Lukas, and Nolan Foster; sister: Donna Ashworth; and several other family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry James officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Heath Ankerich, Michael Canady, Jeremy Childs, Bryce Foster, Lukas Foster, David McCoy, Justin Wilson, and Chris Woods. Nolan Foster will serve as honorary pallbearer.
