James Robert Green, age 85, of Canon, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart.
Born September 28, 1932, in Watertown, NY, he was the son of the late George and Florence (Haggadorn) Green. He was a US Navy veteran and went on to serve and retire from the US Air Force, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish and York Rites, a member of the Knights Templar, and a member of Shriner's International. Mr. Green was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his daughters: Monica Green of Canon and Anita McManemy; son: Michael Capuano; and granddaughter: Lyndsi McManemy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Gordon Green.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Full military honors will be provided by the US Air Force as well as Masonic rites. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children (donate.lovetotherescue.org).
