Mr. James Herman Isom, 86, of 5050 Reed Creek Hwy., Hartwell, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his home.

Born on June 20, 1920 in Hart County GA, he was the son of the late Peter Albert Isom and Liza Carnes Isom.He was retired from Hartwell Mills, member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church and a WW II US Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons: George Herman Isom and Jerry Michael Isom and his wife Ann both of Hartwell; a daughter: Doris I Goforth and her husband Merle of Ferguson NC; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. Isom was preceded in death by his wife: Mattie Emma Hill Isom; an infant son; three brothers: Charles Isom, Mack Isom and Lloyd Isom and two sisters: Josie Vaughn and Cecil Isom.

Funeral services will be Tuesday May 29 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Keith McKenzie and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home of Jerry and Ann Isom, 5152 Reed Creek Hwy, Hartwell, GA
