Mr. James Robert "Jimmy" Vickery Jr., 64 of 232 Shady Hills Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, November 21 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center, Lavonia.

Born on March 28, 1948 in Royston GA, he was the son of James Robert Vickery Sr. and the late Sara Margaret Weaver Vickery.He was the owner/operator of J & R Marine, a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church and a U S Army veteran.

Survivors include his father, Robert Vickery of Bowersville; his wife, Linda Wilks Vickery of the home; two daughters, Tressa V. Blackwell and her husband Terry of Hartwell and Traci V. Wheeler of Hartwell; a brother, Dale Vickery of Anderson SC; a sister, Susan V. Fleming and her husband David of Canon; three grandchildren, Leanne Chafin, Trey Chafin and Tara Wheeler also survive.Mr. Vickery was preceded in death by his mother and a granddaughter, Jamie Chafin.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with burial in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the church service.The family is at the home.
