Mr. James Carlton Kelly, 82, of Kelly Road, Hartwell, died Friday, December 27 at his home.

Born on February 22, 1931 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Horace C. "H.C." Kelly and Fannie Jordan Kelly.Mr. Kelly was a retired machine operator at Haynesworth Plant and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sisters: Manona Daniel & her husband Henry of Elberton, Mary Sanders & her husband Frank of Hartwell and Shirley Sims & her husband Felton of Gainesville GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Geneva Ricks and three brothers, Olin Kelly, Edwin Kelly and Sidney Kelly.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.
