Mr. James Howard Mabry, age 82, of 1080 Allen Farm Rd. Lavonia, died Thursday, May 8 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
Born November 7, 1925, in Gwinnett County, he was the son of the late John Spencer Mabry and Winnie (Shadburn) Mabry. He retired from Robbins Air Force Base, where he did sheet metal repair on airplanes for most of his carreer in later years he worked in Civilian Cataloguing. He was a member of Lavonia First Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister: Martha Mabry Shelton.
Survivors include his wife: Henrietta Maret Mabry; Son: Spencer Mabry of Fort Worth, TX; daughter Jan Mabry of Norcross; brother-in-law: Gerald Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Lavonia First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Finger and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Lavonia First Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 47 Lavonia, GA 30553.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
