Mr. James Robert Morris, 92, of 247 Morris Road, Hartwell, GA, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born June 11, 1916 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Marion Robert Morris and Minnie Brown Morris.He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church; attended Mt. Olivet Church of God; and was a retired Farmer and Carpenter.

His survivors include:Sons, Charles Morris, Jimmy Morris, Ronnie Morris and Billy Morris all of Hartwell, GA; Daughters, Minnie Haygood of Hartwell, Rachel Dodson of Hartwell and Mary Ann Dowell of Canon, GA; Brother, Guy Morris of Hartwell; Seventeen grandchildren; Thirty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Mary Icie Heaton Morris; Daughter, Patsy Morris; and Sisters, Willie Sue Norris, Gertrude Norris, Bertha McKern and Ruth Jones.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Church of God.Rev. Darvin Slaton, Rev. J.B. Kitts and Rev. Lonnie Bennett will officiate.Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 – 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Minnie and Jimmy Haygood, 407 Morris Road, Hartwell, GA.
