Obituary
Mr. James Paul "Jim" O'Brien, 67, of Reed Creek Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home.
Born on July 21, 1953 in Winthrop, IA, he was the son of the late Louis John O'Brien and Lorraine Barbian O'Brien. Mr. O'Brien was a former meat market manager, and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife: Mollie O'Brien of Hartwell; two daughters: Keri O'Brien of Hartwell and Angie O'Brien Carpenter (Clint) of Stansbury Park, UT; two brothers: Danny O'Brien (Diane) of Florida and Steve O'Brien (Kathy) of Bowman; one sister: Susie Roscovious (Gary) of Independence, IA; one brother-in-law: Butch Bass of Cookeville, TN; and four grandchildren: Dillon Carpenter, Tyler Carpenter, Ansley Bailey, and Taylor Bailey. Mr. O'Brien is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Hailey O'Brien; one brother: Donnie O'Brien; and one sister: Patsy Bass.
A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held at a later date by the family.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
