Mr. William James Weaver, Jr., age 62, of Martin, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home.
Born July 3, 1955, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late William James Weaver, Sr. and Wilma (Barnes) Weaver. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School. Mr. Weaver was owner/operator of Oak Valley Meat Processing and was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: William James "Jamie" Weaver, III; daughter: Jennifer Elizabeth Weaver; granddaughter: Alicia Paige Weaver; and sister: Nell Weaver.
He is survived by his wife: Dora (Ybarra) Weaver; son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Karry Weaver; sisters: Elizabeth Crittendon Bryan (Kermitt), Avaline Adams (Larry), and Denise Sims (Mike); and grandchildren: Taylor Weaver, Chloe Weaver, Justin Boykin, and Christine Boykin.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Lavonia First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Scott Bailey, Dillion Bailey, Garrett Bailey, Dale Greenway, Jeremy Chastain, Manny Mays, Joseph Thompson, and Levi Thompson and the New Journey Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lavonia First Baptist Church Youth Hangar fund, P.O. Box 47, Lavonia, GA 30553.
