Rev. James Herman White, age 73, of 1950 Will Bailey Road, Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Born January 6, 1936 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Joe White and Arlie Phillips White. He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company and was a Retired Church of God Bishop. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Church of God.

Survivors include; wife, Shirley Norris White of the home, son, Randy White of Hartwell, Ga., daughters, Kathy Cleveland of Hartwell, Ga., and Kimberly Williford of Sandersville, Ga., sisters, Bobbie Norris of Walhalla, S.C., Sue Blakely of Lavonia, Ga., and Peggy Byrum of Bowersville, Ga. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George and Charles White and sisters, Sara Baker, Guynell Whiten, Louise Partain and Kathryn Bailey.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. J.B. Kitts, Rev. Wayne Durden and Mr. Fred Greenway will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. The family is at the home, 1950 Will Bailey Rd., Hartwell, Ga.
