James Worthey

Mr. James Troy Worthey, 56, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Hill Haven Nursing Home, Commerce GA.

Born on May 6, 1970 in Lawrenceville GA, he was the son of Doris Worthey and the late Troy Worthey. James worked in the health care industry in Florida as a LPN for 28 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his mother: Doris Worthey of Hartwell; his sister: Tammy Frye of Hartwell; two nephews: Jake Frye and Erik Frye; two nieces: Jessie Price (Tom) and Anna Vera (Marcelo); a great-nephew: Zeke Price and a great-niece: Alda Jane Price also survives.

James wished to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family. His ashes will be placed in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart Life, PO Box 344, Hartwell, GA 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
