Mr. Jamie Nye, 48, of 1419 B. Bailey Road, Hartwell, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 31, 1964 in Hannibal, MO, he is the son of Kathryn A. Nye of Hartwell and the late James O. Nye.He was of the Methodist Faith, a former Cub Master and a veteran of the US Navy.

Survivors include his mother; his fiancée, Bobbi Cooper of Hartwell; two sons: Dylan David Nye, Zachary Lee Nye both of Hartwell; two step-sons: Dylan Harvell, Benjamin Harvell both of Hartwell; two sisters: Chelly Johnson of Elberton & Heidi (Kevin) Vassar of Hartwell; his grandmother, Lola B. Nye of Kahoka, MO; four nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and two great-nieces also survive.Jamie was preceded in death by his father, James O. Nye.

Memorial services will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.The family will receive family and friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1720 Epps Bridge Pkwy, Suite 108-383, Athens, GA30606.The family is at the home.
