Mrs. Jan Gibson Adams, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.
Born on December 1, 1942 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of the late Grady Gibson and Eula Mae LeCroy Gibson. Mrs. Adams was a clerk for many years at Wray's Drug Store, and then retired from Rite Aid in Lavonia. Jan loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, flowers, and she loved to sew. She was also of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her two daughters: Tammy Ogle (Mike) of Arnoldsville, GA, and Gina Bleech (Raulie) of Royston; one sister: Shirley Reed of Warner Robbins, GA; three grandchildren: Marena Bleech, Taryn McNure (Alex), and Tristan Phillips (Brack); and four great-grandchildren: Sadie McNure, Ella McNure, Brooks Phillips, and Baylor Phillips.
Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Bobby Cromer; second husband: George N. Adams; one daughter: Karen Lynn Cromer; one brother: Charles Gibson; and one grandchild: Lauren Beth Bleech.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Services for Mrs. Jan Adams will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Bert Synan officiating. It was Mrs. Adams' wishes to be cremated following the service, and her ashes will be interred at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
