Mrs. Jane Brandhoff Monahan, age 90, of Demorest, formerly of Lavonia, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Magnolia Hills Retirement Home.
Born March 3, 1926, in Principio Furnace, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Hill) Brandhoff. She was a graduate of Towson State Teachers College and retired from the Baltimore County School System. Mrs. Monahan was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years: Thomas Joseph Monahan; daughter and son-in-law: Kathleen and Jack Molnar of Clarkesville; grandchildren: Michael & Cindy Molnar and John Kendrick Molnar; and sister: Rose Brandhoff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Carl Humphreys, Elizabeth Cregar, Edward Brandhoff, and Elnora Penniman.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2014 at the Lavonia United Methodist Church with Rev. John Dallas and Rev. Brian Butler officiating. Mrs. Monahan was cremated in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Lavonia United Methodist Church, 25 Baker Street, Lavonia, GA 30553.
