Mrs. Janie White Maret, 82, of Hartwell, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 29, 1931 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Judge Reese White and Arlie Brown White.She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Jimmy Maret of Hartwell; two daughters: Nancy M. Theiling of Atlanta and Lynn M. Harder of Athens; two brothers: Walter White of Athens and William White of Birmingham AL; two sisters: Lula Belle Burden of Hartwell and Gatha Harvey of Birmingham AL; five grandchildren: Sarah Frost, Charles Theiling, James Maret, John Maret and Matthew Harder and a great-grandchild: Caleb Frost.Mrs. Maret was preceded in death by her parents; husband: James Harold Maret; grandson: Brad Smith; two brothers: Gartrell White and John Tom White and two sisters: Ella Ruth Meede and Bonnie Sue Hulsey.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Rev. Joe Black officiating.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. The family is at their respective homes. Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
