Mrs. Janie Louise Callaham McCoy, age 85, of Lavonia, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born July 28, 1924 in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late J. P. & Lillie Belle Campbell Callaham. She retired from textile work and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert G. McCoy; and sisters: L. E. McAllister, Mary Whitt, and Hazel Brock.
She is survived by daughters: Glenda Conner of Martin and Janie Mullinax of Lavonia; brother: Clarence Callaham of Williamston, SC; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Ross Layne and Rev. Bob Alewine officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, Belton, SC.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of the granddaughter: 50 Brookwood Circle, Lavonia, GA 30553.
