Mrs. Janie Taylor Patterson, 77, of Martin, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at the home of her daughter.
Born March 31, 1940, in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Howard Taylor and Irene Hill Taylor. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lamar Patterson, son: Rickey Patterson; and sister: Ruth Gatchell.
She is survived by her children: Debbie Culpepper and husband Bill, Susie Wilson and husband Greg, Roger Patterson, Janet Manley, and Tammy Jones; daughter-in-law: Susan Patterson; siblings: Bonnie Patterson, Melrose Sims, Diane Teate, Howard Taylor, Judy Fawcett, and Wanda Segars, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Fish officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of Debbie and Bill Culpepper.
