Mrs. Janis Leigh Vaughn Payne, age 58 of 527 Oakway Drive, Eastanollee, GA, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born January 23, 1950 in Fulton County, GA, she is the daughter of Patricia Nasworthy Vaughn of Lavonia, GA and the late Joe Fred Vaughn.
She is survived by:Mother; Husband, Alex D. Payne of the home; Sons, Michael Scott Shaw of Lavonia, GA and Jeff Shaw of Lavonia, GA; Stepson, Marvin L. Payne of Eastanollee, GA; Stepdaughter, Johnnie Payne of Eastanollee, GA; Sisters, Bambi Harbin of Lavonia, GA and Mandi Uselton of Lavonia, GA; Granddaughter, Nicole Shaw.She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Pam Vaughn.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family is at their respective homes.The family requests no flowers.Memorials may be made to Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, GA30553.
