Jason David Dean, age 42, of Carnesville, passed away July 13, 2022.

Born October 6, 1979, in Stephens County, he was the son of Jeanette Williams Dean and the late John Henry Dean. Jason was a veteran of the US Army, where he served in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was a member of the VFW Post 5897 in Lavonia. Jason was the owner and operator of PoorBoyz Lumber.

He is survived by his wife: April Smith Dean; children: Devyn Norman, Dalton Dean, Dallas Dean, Jaxson Dean, Onnya Bookout, and Vietta Bookout; siblings: Phillip Dean, Billy Dean, and Tracey Dean; grandchildren: Zeevah Yearwood, Amiyah Shook, and Micah Shook; and many friends and other family members.

The memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. A celebration of Jason's life will follow at the VFW Post 5897, 144 E. Main Street, Lavonia, GA 30553.
