Jason Lee Moody

Jason Lee Moody, age 77, of Carnesville, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 at the home of his daughter. Born on June 7, 1949, in Senoia, Georgia, Jason was born to the late Walter Lee Moody and Mattie Mae Smith. He was a military veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Air Force.

Jason dedicated many years of his life to his work as a roofer at Summers Roofing Company. His commitment to his craft was admired by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Jason was an avid fisherman and a diehard fan of football, baseball, and NASCAR. He was a member of Woods Memorial Baptist Church

In addition to his parents, Jason was predeceased by his beloved wife, Brenda Jean Strozier Moody, brothers, Walter Moody, Jr. and Q.T. Moody; and sister, Ruby Kate Hightower. He is survived by his loving children: Toshiro Butler, Dr. Jacson Moody, Jr. (Dr. Nicole Moody), Jermaine Moody, Jeremy Moody, Jeffrey Moody, and Jeronica Odister (Sean Odister). He was a beloved brother to Ann Moody and Mary Isom and a proud grandfather to twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. Jason will be laid to rest at College Park Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, July 10, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
