Mr. Jason Amani Tasi, known as "Tasi", 42, of the Vanna Community, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his home.
Born on October 12, 1978 in Columbus, GA, he was the son of Amani L. Tasi and the late Janice Cornelius Brown Tasi. Tasi attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and was the owner/operator of Tasi' Tattoos in Royston, where "his chair was his pulpit." He was also a former etching artist for the granite industry. He was an all-around artist and had published a book of his artwork. Tasi was a devoted Christian and a member of the Compassion Church of Hartwell, but he was also the spiritual leader of his family.
Tasi is survived by his father: Amani L. Tasi of Long Beach, CA; wife: Megan Coley Tasi of the home; two daughters: Leilani Tasi and Malie Tasi, both of the home; one brother: Richard Bruce of Elberton; four sisters: Natasha Tasi Johnson (Chris) of Hartwell, Tina Tasi of Elberton, Parish Bruce of Aiken, SC, and Tricia Tasi of Elberton; two brothers-in-law: Aaron Coley (Kim) of Bowman and Forrest Darling of Courtland, NY; two nieces: Shyanne Johnson and Olivia Johnson; and five nephews: Xavier Johnson, Kingston Hardman, Keikoa Tasi, Kymani Tasi, and Seth Bruce. Mr. Tasi is preceded in death by his mother; and a sister-in-law: Micah C. Darling.
It was Tasi's wishes to be cremated. A Celebration of Tasi's life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Ray Dillon, Pastor Rick Womack, and Pastor Troy Ayers officiating. A visitation will follow the service.
