Mr. Jasper Fletcher "Jeff" Davis, age 90, of Lavonia, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Clemson Downs in Clemson, SC.
Born October 4, 1922 in Cochran, he was the son of the late Herman Alfred and Odessa (Skipper) Davis. He graduated from Martha Berry Academy and had a successful career in business and insurance. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WW II. Mr. Davis was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Zola (Wooster) Davis; brothers: Herman Davis, Jr, Dan Davis, & William Davis; and a grandson: Brad Davis.
He is survived by daughter & son-in-law: Nancy & Joe Snell of Monroe; sons & daughters-in-law: Jeff & Candice Davis of Pendleton, SC and Walt & Emilie Davis of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren: Joe Snell, III, Sherri Snell Rollins, Brian Davis, Brett Davis, Faith Davis Stillwell, Joshua Davis, & Grace Davis Welch; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Lavonia City Cemetery with Rev. Ben Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills 390 Keowee School Road Seneca, SC 29672.
