Mr. J. C. Bailey, 83, of Old Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his home.

Born on July 4, 1933 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late James Edgar Bailey and Rosa M. White Bailey.Mr. Bailey was a retired loom technician from Newton-Milliken after 42 years of service and was co-owner/operator and Floral Designer of Frances' Flowers of Hartwell. Mr. Bailey also was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Frances Saylors Bailey; two sons: Jimmy Bailey (Debbie) of Kathleen, GA and Sidney Bailey (fiancée Beverley) of Douglasville, GA; one sister: Bettie Reed of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Jessica Bailey, Jimmy Bailey II, Jacquelynne Bailey, Johnna Bailey, Julia Bailey and one great-grandchild: Aaron Bailey. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 5, 2017, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sean Payne officiating.Entombment will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson, SC.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell, GA 30643.
