Mr. J D Moon, 89, of Anderson Hwy., Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospice House, Watkinsville, GA.

Born on May 26, 1926 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late James Jasper Moon and Lilla Cape Moon.Mr. Moon was a retired owner and operator of JD's Gutter Service and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.He also was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include three daughters: Mary Morrow of Cloudland, GA, Janice Saine of Lawrenceville, GA, and Sue Smith and her husband Rick of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Amy Morrow, Jamie Miller and Stanley, Lindsey Saine Smith, Casie Maxey and Josh and three great-grandchildren: Avery Miller, Eric Miller, Addison Maxey; two sisters: Grace Baker of Hartwell and Jean Blanton of Anderson, SC also survive.Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Hellon Kesler Moon; two sons-in-law: Jerry Morrow and Robert Saine; three brothers: W C Moon, Quinton Moon and Otis Moon and three sisters: Annie Ruth Vickery, Clara Sue Moon and Dessie Moon.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 14, 2015, 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. John Silver and Mr. Henry Kesler officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.The family is at the home.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA30346.
