Mrs. Frances Jean Richardson Brogdon, 94, of Buford GA, formerly of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Manor Lake Hamilton Mill, Buford GA.

Born on January 16, 1930 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Chester Richardson and Mamie Herring Richardson.  Mrs. Brogdon was a graduate of Hartwell High School and the Massey Business School.  She retired from the Internal Revenue Service, where she was a manager in the Data Conversion Division.

Mrs. Brogdon was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Carolyn Brown Sunday School Class, Senior Rocks and Women on Missions.

Survivors include her grandson: Jeffrey Brogdon (Jonica) and two great-grandsons: Judson & Jackson Brogdon all of Suwanee GA; a daughter-in-law: Sandra Brogdon of Suwanee GA; three sisters: Jimmie Ruth Norris, Selma Isom, and Linda Partain (Jimmy) all of Hartwell, and a brother-in-law Bob (Jean) Brogdon of Loganville, GA

Mrs. Brogdon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Roy H. Brogdon and a son: Roy D. Brogdon, and a brother: Charles W. Richardson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Brogdon will be Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jeffrey Brogdon and Rev. Terry Meeks officiating.  Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Peachtree Memorial Park, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Norcross, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1543 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.
