Mrs. Jean "Dinky" West Pruitt, aged 71, of Toccoa, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Born on July 24, 1953, in Atlanta, GA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Howard Eugene and Faye Hall West.
Jean was a dedicated administrative assistant with the Stephens County Health Department. She was a cherished member of Mullins Ford Baptist Church, where she shared her love for teaching Sunday School and directing music. Her passions included cardinals, gardening, shopping, and traveling, and she was known for her warm and engaging personality.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Walter Pruitt, II, and her loving children: daughter Natalie Pruitt Henson and her husband John, and sons Adam Pruitt and Russell Pruitt with his wife Lisa, all residing in Toccoa. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: William Fritz, Katlyn Pruitt, Kane Pruitt, Mera Henson, Aidan Henson, Logan Henson, Abigail Irvin, Kenley, London, Nova, and Colton. She is also survived by her sister Rayne Maxwell, brother Hall West, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at 1pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with Rev. James Duncan and Rev. Joey Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Lavonia-Burgess City Cemetery, with Kane Pruitt, J. P. Hewitt, Tony Rogers, North West, Easton West, and Logan Henson serving as pallbearers.
