Mrs. Martha Jean (Smith) Floyd, age 82, of Lavonia, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at her home.
Born September 25, 1934, in Lavonia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Ray Smith and Martha Nelle (McGee) Smith. She retired from Johnson & Johnson after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Alton Ray Floyd.
She is survived by her sons: Douglas Floyd and Allen Floyd, both of Lavonia; sister and brother-in-law: Virginia & Bill Crump; grandchildren: Amy Mitchell, David & Tammy Floyd, Chloe Floyd, and Andrew Floyd; and great-grandchildren: Jamy Mitchell, Carter Mitchell, Ethan Brown, Makenzie Hughes, and Kaycee Rae Floyd.
The graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Forbes officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 250 Pleasant Grove Road, Lavonia, GA 30553.
