Mrs. Jean Rowland Strong, 84 of Griffin, GA, formerly of Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, December 05, 2007 at Brightmore Nursing Center, Griffin, GA.
Born December 25, 1922 in Americus, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester L. Rowland and Eliza Horne Rowland.She was a homemaker and a member of Fort Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by:Daughters, Carol Venable and her husband Mays of Fort Mill, SC, Kay Willis and her husband Ken of Canton, GA, Sandra Baker and her husband Dan of Griffin, GA, and Pat Harper and her husband Lamont of Hartwell, GA; Brothers, Jimmy Rowland and his wife Joyce of Fort Valley, GA, Jack Rowland and his wife Jane of Pelham, GA; Eight grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren also survive.She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Joseph Marion "Joe" Strong; Sisters, Ruth Horton and Betty Matthews; and Brothers, Dan Rowland and Lester Rowland, Jr.
Gravesides Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.Dr. R. Allen Stewart will officiate.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday 12:30 ~ 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
