Mrs. Jeanette Parker Bartlett, 83, of N. Forest Avenue, Hartwell, GA., widow of Mr. Daniel M. (Dan) Bartlett, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at her sister's home.
Born in Hart County, Georgia, April 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Willie (Will) Royal Parker and Eula Holland Parker. She was a graduate of Hart County High School, retired from Hart Electric Membership Corp. (EMC) with 40 years of service as a senior cashier and was also a homemaker.Mrs. Bartlett was an active member of Reed Creek Baptist Church, a member of Mel Loyd's Sunday School class (as long as her health permitted), a former choir member, served as church teller and financial secretary.
Surviving are one sister, Inez Parker Bailey, Hartwell, GA.; One sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Bartlett Brown of Bowersville, GA; one niece, Jan Parker Boles and her husband, Leslie Boles, of Lavonia, GA; one nephew, Travis Parker of Lavonia, GA; two great nephews: Lance Parker Boles of Hartwell, GA and Landy Champion Boles of North Augusta, SC; also several other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Harold Espy Parker, and his wife, Lila Belle Bailey Parker.
The funeral service will be Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home conducted by her pastor, Rev. Sam Dulaney. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The family is at the home of her sister, Inez Parker Bailey, 703 Vickery St., Hartwell, GA.The family will receive friends at Strickland Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reed Creek Baptist Church Repair Fund, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell, GA30643 or to the charity of one's choice.
