Jeannette Eberhardt Seaton, age 97, of Dalton and formerly of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Peachtree Estates Assisted Living.
She was the widow of Millard R. Seaton and was the daughter of the late L.W. Eberhardt, Sr. and Josephine Wheeler Eberhardt. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Judge Homer C. Eberhardt and Dr. Guy W. Eberhardt; sisters, Ruth Chastain, Ira Foster and Golden Mason and son-in-law, Charles L. Cook.
Born in Maysville, Georgia, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Hartwell and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and former Home Demonstration Agent with the University of Georgia Extension Service in Hart County.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Jo Cook of Cohutta GA; grandson and his wife, Mark R. and Kara Cook of Cohutta GA; granddaughter and her husband, Kim and Scott King of Northville, MI; great grandchildren, Jenny Karaline Cook, Ally Jo Cook and Charlotte Seaton Cook and Rachel Josephine King and Matthew Callum King.
The funeral service will be held Monday June 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Hartwell First Baptist Church with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bill Foster, John Foster, Robert Wages, Joe Adams, Bobby Seaton, Linx Eberhardt, Hugh Temple and Tony Hayne.
The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Hartwell, 81 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643 or charity of one's choice.
