Mr. Jeffrey Eugene "Jeff" Humphrey, age 73, of Martin, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born May 11, 1945, in Stephens County Hospital, he was the son of the late Eugene M. and Eliza (Vandiver) Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a graduate of Lavonia High School. He was a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service and was a charter member of the Line Volunteer Fire Department. He served our country in the GA National Guard having achieved the rank of SSGT/E6. Mr. Humphrey was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Frances (Scott) Humphrey.
He is survived by his sons: Jason Michael Humphrey & Pamela Carnes of Lavonia and Scott Alan Humphrey of Martin; grandchildren: Sierra Shea Humphrey and Jason Chase Humphrey; brothers: Jerome Humphrey & Kaye of Martin, Johnny Humphrey & Sue of Lavonia and Joe & Merita Humphrey of Rome.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Harvill and Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. At other times the family will be at the home.
