Mr. Jeffery (Jeff) Louis Evans, age 48 of 1543 Ridge Road, Hartwell, Ga., died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born February 21, 1959 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Wilbur Ace Evans and Ruby Lawrence Evans. He was employed with the city of Lavonia where he was in charge of water treatment. He was retired from the Georgia National Guard with twenty years of service. Jeff was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, and the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class.

He is survived by: Wife, Tracy Phillips Evans of the home; Sons, Michael Louis Evans and Mark Allen Evans of Hartwell, GA.; Daughters, Jennifer Evans Renner and Laura Beth Evans of Hartwell, GA.; Brother, Tommy Evans of Elberton, GA; Grandchildren surviving are Megan and Hailey Renner. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judy Carruth.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hartwell First United Methodist Church. Dr. R. Allen Stewart and Rev. Troy Ayers will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Tuesday evening. The family will be at the home.
