Jeffrey Wayne Burns, age 51, of Lavonia, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born on June 10, 1973, in Port St. Joe, Florida, Jeffrey was the son of Linda DeFoor Burns Gore and the late Rev. Doug Burns. Prior to his disability, Jeffrey worked diligently for American Woodmark and Franklin County Middle School as a custodian. His Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and relationships. Jeffrey cherished spending time with his family and close friends, especially enjoying activities in the water, whether it was in a pool, at a lake, or by the beach. His kindness and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Amy Leah Bailey Burns; his daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Evan Greer; mother and stepfather, Linda and Jonny Gore; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bryan and Lisa Burns, and Michael and Kippy Burns; his parents-in-law, Rev. Dr. Dan and Vickie Bailey; his sister-in-law, Alisha Bailey; and a multitude of other family members and friends.

A funeral service to honor Jeffrey's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the funeral home chapel. A private burial will follow at Hunters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours, the family will be at the home of close friends Freddy & Ashley Welborn, 120 Bakers Road, Royston, GA 30662.
